The First Certificate in English (FCE) is aimed at people who can use everyday English confidently for work or study purposes.
This qualification is recognised by many universities as proof of being able to study in English. FCE is also recognised by employers as an English certificate suitable for those working in business and management.

The course at IH Doha is specifically designed to cover the required range of writing, reading, listening and speaking tasks, coupled with essential examination skills.
The syllabus includes:
guidance in the skills to read and understand information in fiction and non-fiction books, journals, magazines and newspapers
producing different pieces of writing such as a short stories, letters, articles, reports and reviews
how to control grammar and vocabulary
listening to a range of spoken material, including news programmes, speeches and public announcements
different types of speaking tasks, including by yourself and discussions
