GMATGraduate Management Admission Test is designed to assist students planning to take the official Graduate Management Admission Test governed by the Graduate Management Admission Council, headquartered in Virginia. |
What is GMAT?
The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a requirement for admission to MBA programs at most American, Canadian, and European business schools. GMAT may also be required for admission to business PhD programs in certain universities.
The GMAT exam is mainly an assessment of your mental intelligence level, and so mainly tests your ability to make quick decisions under pressure and within a limited time. This will evaluate your competence in being able to follow an institution’s business program courses.
GMAT Content
The GMAT consists of three sections; a Verbal (English) section, an Analytical Writing Assessment (Essay) section, and a Quantitative (Mathematics) section:
A. The Verbal section involves Reading Comprehension, Sentence Correction, and Critical
Reasoning.
B. The recently added Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA) requires the writing of two essays: one
Issue-writing task and one Argument Analysis task.
C. The Quantitative section consists of Data Sufficiency questions and Problem Solving questions.
MLC offers 30 hours of Verbal and AWA preparation, as well as 30 hours of Quantitative preparation.
