Time is precious, and, between 9:00  a.m and 1:00 p.m. every day,  our Intensive Summer English Courses are available and designed for our students to attend. Such regular English language classes  focus on the basic skills of the language: reading, listening, speaking and writing. Moreover, students will have the chance to attend two hours of conversation with an American teacher free of charge.

Of course this is combined with extracurricular activities such as skating, horse riding, swimming, bowling, biking in the open country and full day trips to nearby places such as Jerash, the Dead Sea, Madaba and Petra. Transportation is available.  All of this comes as the right solution for students to properly utilize their time during the summer holiday, when they are offered the chance to combine learning and pleasure.

Levels 1-10

The MLC offers 10 levels of study for school students looking for the improvement of their English. Our computerized placement test will determine your exact level, so you don’t have to fret about whether or not you are being enrolled for the right level, or feel out of place among other students.

How are classes conducted?

Our English classes are carried out in a comfortable, relaxed environment, so that you can learn at ease. A highly qualified teacher will guide you through each course, using the latest methods to make sure that you are exposed to the four key language skills during every session.

Students practice reading and writing skills at their level of competency. Listening exercises are conducted every lesson through audio CDs in order to develop your ear sensitivity to  English. Speaking skills constitute the focal point throughout the course, in view of the fact that speaking is the greatest practical skill needed by students.  Our teachers serve as good models for studetns to copy and learn using proper and situational English.

Material

General English courses are taught using the “Interchange” student books and workbooks from the Cambridge University Press. Each book is packed with comprehensive exercises covering real-world topics incorporating vocabulary, grammar, writing, reading comprehension, listening, speaking and pronunciation skills.
Along with the book and workbook, you will also receive a corresponding CD-ROM, so that you can further practice your skills and enhance your English-learning experience beyond the classroom.

Assessment

In order to keep track of the students’ progress, frequent check-ups on language level are conducted throughout the course. Quizzes, mid-terms, and final examinations are given in all courses, so that the instructor can follow your progress and note any impediments in your language development.
