Cultural & Scientific Cooperation with Qatari

During a visit to Qatar, the Modern Language Centre (MLC) Director, Faris Awad, discussed aspects of cultural and scientific cooperation with Qatari private sector representatives.

Mr. Awad made clear MLC has numerous mutually endorsed agreements with world universities such as Michigan University in the U.S. and Cambridge in England, and regularly conducts various English language courses such as the ILETS , TOEFL and computer courses.

He added that since its commencement with a few students in 1970, MLC has continued cooperation with various institutions for the acquirement and improvement of English as a second language till the present time, when thousands of students graduate from the Center.

TOEFL at the Jordan Academy for Maritime Studies

A TOEFL-iBT preparation course was held for the staff and students at the Jordan Academy For Maritime Studies (JAMS) premises towards the end of the year 2010. Mr. Ead Batarseh, a veteran teacher, was selected to teach the course and interact with the students in preparation for them to pass the TOEFL iBT Test.

The results were very good and in line with aspirations. So, on this occasion, Dr. Mustafa Massad, the JAMS President, conferred an honorary shield of merit on Mr. Faris Awad, the Director of the Modern Language Center (MLC), in support of continued cooperation between the two institutions.

The American Chamber Of Commerce

The Modern Language Center (MLC) has been accepted as a member of in good standing of The American Chamber Of Commerce In Jordan since March 2011, and thus awarded the fellowship and privileges of this membership.

Vocational Training Corporation, New Batch of Graduates

eputizing for the Director General of Vocational Training Corporation, Majid Habashneh, Assistant Director General for training purposes Engineer Hani Khleifat was patron at the Modern Language Center MLC’s celebration in Jebel Weibdeh, marking graduation of the fourth batch of English language students, in the presence of MLC founder Yousef Awad, MLC Director General Faris Awad, people concerned and graduates.

In his speech at the end of the celebration, Engineer Khleifat congratulated all the participants, and encouraged them to continue learning and made clear that English is not a mere desire, but a special need and that all specializations depend proficiency in English.

Moreover, MLC founder delivered a speech in which he called upon graduates to be ambitious and confident, and reiterated his pride in the MLC’s performance and its courses over the past forty years – a fact that enabled students to have the opportunity to achieve their goals.

Farah Imad Al-Aswad, a student at MlC, delivered a speech in English on behalf of the graduates in which she expressed the graduates’ gratitude for the having the opportunity at MLC to make their dreams come true.
At the end of the ceremony, Mr. Awad presented a shield to Engineer Khleifat, who, in turn, offered the MLC the shield of the Vocational Training Coporation, handed out certificates to the graduates, and welcomed the employees

The Modern Language Center (MLC) Celebrates Graduation of New Batch of Graduates

The Modern Language Center (MLC) in Jebel Al-Weibdeh held a ceremony to mark the graduation of a New Batch of English language students from the Airports Corporation Staff, who successfully completed MLC English language courses. This falls in line with the policy of cooperation between the Airports Company and MLC to raise the level of language proficiency, namely the skills of reading, listening, speaking and writing.
MLC Director Faris Awad handed out certificates to the graduates, who expressed their gratitude to the MLC administration and teachers, and affirmed their intention to maintain the good work for the development of their English for a better future

MLC / Amideast agreement

An agreement was concluded between the Amideast and the MLC which authorizes the latter to hold, at its premises, the TOEFL-ITP tests accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education, and by all Universities in the kingdom.

Memorandum of Understanding

A memorandum of understanding between the Higher Education Accreditation Commission and the Modern Language Center (MLC) was signed on March 4, 2009 to enhance future mutual cooperation to promote technical and professional services pertaining to preparation and development of testing and standards.
