A word from Founder & Director

Mr. Yousef H. Awad
Co-founder

At MLC, we take pride in the language training courses that we provide and hope that our services better help you promote your performance and careers at all times.

Over the past forty years, MLC has continued to offer language training courses to both public and private sectors with great results, efficiency and satisfaction.

Today, our services have expanded to include TOEFl  testing , i.e iBT, LPT, ALIGU from Georgetown University as well as preparation courses for the IELTS for immigration purposes to Australia, Canada, New Zealand and others.

MLC also administers another language proficiency test called ECPE twice a year, which is certified by the University of Michigan, USA . Therefore, our Center has become an authorized and recognized center for international tests.

MLC has gone a step further to ensure delivering the best services to its students by signing and maintaining an Agreement of Understanding with the Ministry of Higher Education. This agreement allows us to stay updated with the Ministry's latest news and requirements.

Consequently, we are well aware of the fact that MLC graduates are well-equipped and ready to sit for, and pass English language proficiency, i.e mainly TOEFL and ALIGU without which a university degree would not be possible.

Remember that education is a life time process. We will keep learning as long as we live and that English teaching and learning never stop; and that maintaining a teachable spirit ia a main key to continuous development.

The Need for English

Recent world events have underlined the need to improve understanding and to increase communication among all nations. An international exchange of ideas is essential in various areas, such as the environment, medical research, genetics and neural research, and the political challenges of a global economy. To meet these communication needs, more and more people choose to study English. Many of them have highly specific academic and professional reasons for looking to improve their language skills. For students preparing their theses, courses that fall under the heading “English for Special Purposes” (ESP) hold especially strong appeal. ESP programs focus on a specific field, such as business or technology. Some courses prepare students for various academic programs.

The courses build up vocabulary and strengthen skills needed in the work field, such as negotiation skills and effective techniques for oral presentations. ESP programs use printed and audio-visual materials that address the needs of this well-defined group of learners.

Many courses now focus on the Internet, how to use its vast wealth of information for academic or professional purposes, and what ethics and conventions govern the use of that information.

Generally, older, more advanced students should consider ESP instead of a more general English language course. Students should note, however, that most courses assume a strong English language background. Many require that applicants be at a High Intermediate or Advanced level of skill.
